A third optional parameter can be used to pass the name of a configuration file. This file must be located in ~/etc e.g. ~/etc/params_Hawaii.cfg . If no third parameter is supplied, the configuration is read from ~/etc/params.cfg .
| As of V2.0.0 (November 2009), the time series read from the .SORT file can be splitted into shorter overlapping fractions, which can be configured similar to wera16_grid_ol . Check the values in params.cfg as described below. Two different integration times can be handeled simultaneously: CUR and TSU. |
wera16_beam reads all information needed on number of channels, length of timeseries, etc. from the header (first 512 bytes of data file) and the following values from PARAM_UV.CFG (VMS) / params.cfg (Linux):
Values in params.cfg:
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C Enable .SPEC/.rad files with different integration times
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CUR_SPEC = .TRUE. !enable writing of current files (*.CUR.SPEC)
c CUR_SPEC = .FALSE. !enable writing of current files (*.CUR.SPEC)
TSU_SPEC = .TRUE. !enable writing of tsunami detection (*.TSU.SPEC)
c TSU_SPEC = .FALSE. !enable writing of tsunami detection (*.TSU.SPEC)
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C Define integration times
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
! the following parameters must be multiples of 128
NSER_AVG = 512 ! length of combined .USORT fractions
NCUR_AVG = 2048 ! integration time for current measurements, minimum 512
NTSU_AVG = 512 ! Integration time for Tsunami detection, minimum 256
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C Result file time steps within a coherent .USORT stream
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
! the following parameters must be multiples of 128
NCUR_STEP = 512 ! Samples between .CUR.SPEC / .crad result files
NTSU_STEP = 128 ! Samples between .TSU.SPEC / .crad Tsunami result files
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C Name of WERA Gain File
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GAIN_NAME = '/home/wera/etc/wera_gain.dat'
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C The following 7 parameters allow simultaneous use of a linear and
C a square array within the same WERA system. They provide a mapping
C of receiver channels to antenna numbers. A value of '0' indicates that
C this antenna configuration does not exist in the actual WERA system.
C-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ARR1_001 = 1 !First antenna# in linear array
ARR2_001 = 16 !Last antenna# in linear array
ARRD_001 = 9.35 !Distance between elements [meters]
STEER_001 = 60 !+/- max steering angle [degrees]
!Name of file for FullCalibration
FCAL_001 = '/home/wera/etc/LaRevellata.fullcal'
!Name of file for linear array spacing
DIST_001 = '/home/wera/etc/antdist_LaRevellata.asc'
!Name of file for antenna locations
APOS_001 = '/home/wera/etc/antpos_LaRevellata.asc'
ADJ_RAN_001 = 200.0 !Range to add to WERA measurenent [m]
ADJ_ANG_001 = 2.3 !Angle to add to WERA measurenent [degrees]

Look here for all options and their parameters to define the linear receive antenna array and beam forming.
When CUR_SPEC or TSU_SPEC are defined to be .TRUE., the resulting file name has to
include the seconds and integration time. The time code is generated from the starting time of the fraction
of the time series and the <path_to_.rad_file> is modified from e.g.
/home/wera/data/Hawaii/2009274/20092710115_kok.rad to
/home/wera/data/Hawaii/2009274/2009271011545-0512_kok.rad
i.e. the target directory, site code, and extension are kept.
Program expects 'FMSOCO' header code and writes 'FMRADB' header code.
Look here for a complete list of header codes.

This is an example of radial components of the surface current field measured at Kaena/Oahu/Hawaii visualized by Plott_UV.
Here are the data formats of the input (.SORT) and output (.RAD_beam) files.
Compilation from source:
Linux: Source is in wera16_beam.F Compilation and linking with '. do_wera16_beam.sh' Call with > wera16_beam <path_to_.sort_file> <path_to_.rad_beam_file> [params_*.cfg] e.g. > wera16_beam /directory/20003341355_TOR.SORT /directory/20003341355_TOR.rad_beam params_hawaii.cfg You should use the same time code in the .SORT and .rad_beam filenames. |
