WERA HF Radar Software - Visualize Normal Measurements (Beams)

Plott_WERA_Sort_Ang_Beam

Call: Plott_WERA_Sort_Ang_Beam <measurement_file>.sort [params*.cfg]

A second optional parameter can be used to pass the name of a configuration file. This file must be located in ~/etc e.g. ~/etc/params_Hawaii.cfg . If no optional parameter is supplied, the configuration is read from ~/etc/params.cfg .

This program is similar to Plott_WERA_Sort_RCs_Beam, except that for a given range cell the beam is steered +/- 70 degrees.

Plott_WERA_Sort_Ang_Beam reads all information needed on number of channels, length of timeseries, etc. from the header (first 512 bytes of data file) and the following parameters for PARAM_UV.CFG (VMS) or /home/wera/etc/params.cfg (Linux):

Values in PARAM_UV.CFG or /home/wera/etc/params.cfg:

        AUTO_SCALE = .TRUE. !.true. = use auto scale

C Name of WERA Gain File
C
        GAIN_NAME       = '/home/wera/etc/wera_gain.dat'

        !The following 7 parameters allow simultaneous use of a linear and
        !a square array within the same WERA system. They provide a mapping
        !of receiver channels to antenna numbers. A value of '0' indicates that
        !this antenna configuration does not exist in the actual WERA system.
        !
        ARR1_001        =  1            !First antenna# in linear array
        ARR2_001        = 16            !Last antenna# in linear array
        ARRD_001        = 9.35          !Distance between elements [meters]
                                        !Name of file for FullCalibration
        FCAL_001        = '/home/wera/etc/LaRevellata.fullcal'
					!Name of file for linear array spacing
	DIST_001	= 'antdist_LaRevellata.asc'

The following box shows a typical output generated by Plott_WERA_Sort_Ang_Beam:

wera@ifmpc205:~/Fortran> Plott_WERA_Sort_Ang_Beam ~/data/examples/20041230320_lar.sort params_corsica.cfg

Graphics can be generated for all range cells.

The dynamic range shown in the figure has a fixed reference point: The ADC's maximum input voltage of +/-10 Volts * Gain Ramp refers to 0 dB.
