The Acquisition Mode field has the following options:

S T O P Stop any running cycles after they finish; deactivate automatic cycle control; Interrupt/Stop full calibration cycles (if it takes too long); stop test modes; required before other modes can be selected

Continuous Acquisition Start continuous acquisition cycles as defined in WeraDesk

Single Acquisition Start one acquisition cycle immediately

Calibration Start one calibration cycle immediately

Cont. Calibration Start continuous calibration cycles as defined in WeraDesk

Internal Calibration Start an internal calibration cycle

Full Calibration Start a full calibration cycles - caution that takes ~ 5 houres

FM raw Acquisition Run WERA in chirp mode without internal range resolution

Test Acquisition Switch WERA to chirped mode without storing data; can immediately be stopped

Test Calibration Switch WERA to non-chirped mode without storing data; can immediately be stopped

Scan Frequencies Activate a frequency scan as defined in the frequency management fields

Remarks

Any continuous measurement mode must be stopped before another mode can be activated.
Check the "Automatic Cycles" entry in the status page.
Any TEST mode must be stopped before another mode can be activated.

Full Calibration

This mode should be used like normal Calibration measurements, i.e. with the calibration box connected to all receiver channels. The purpose is to check the individual receiver's amplitude and phase response as a function of range cell. Currently, we calibrate the receivers with 80 Hz offset, which refers to about range cell 20. To get the 'Full Calibration', WeraDesk steps through frequency offsets in increments of one range cell and stores on-minute data sets. As 256 data sets are acquired, the complete procedure takes about 256 minutes (up to 4 hours 20 minutes), so please be patient and do not interrupt the cycle (e.g. go for some lunch or dinner).

Internal Calibration

Internal calibration allows for a quick-check of all receivers with an 'built-in' calibration box. This mode can be used to check for any drift or misfunction of the receivers without connecting to 'open air' (antennas) and receiving interference.
