WERA HF Radar Software - CL7 Program Documentation
The CL7 runs VxWorks real time software. The previous configuration
supported VxWorks to be booted from the Linux workstation.
To enable booting from the internal flashdisk [CL7::C:\], perform the
following steps:
- Prepare a DOS floppy containing CL7.EXE .
- Install the latest Linux vxworks_20020617.tar.gz .
- Boot the CL7 to the VxWorks boot menue "[VxWorks Boot]:" and hit any
key to stop auto-boot.
- Enter "c" to change the boot parameters.
- Step through the parameter list until you reach "startup scripts".
- Change vxworks/start.txt to vxworks/startConf.txt
- Step through the rest of the parameter list.
- enter "@" to boot.
- vxworks/startConf.txt runs "mkbootAta" and installs the new boot block.
- Insert a DOS bootable floppy into the CL7's drive.
- Boot DOS.
- Insert the DOS floppy containing CL7.EXE .
- Enter C:
- Enter A:\CL7
- Wait until the archive is unpacked to CL7::C:\
- Reboot the CL7; VxWorks should now boot up completely without a running
network connection to the Linux host. However, to start the measurements
and to store WERA raw data, a network connection is required later on.
Future updates of the VxWorks package require the following steps:
If you apply the CL7full.exe kit, bootrom and vxworks are also
updated and you may need to make the flashdisk bootable again as explained
above. The CL7upd.exe kit only replaces the WERA real-time software.
- Prepare a DOS floppy containing the new CL7.EXE .
- Insert a DOS bootable floppy into the CL7's drive.
- Boot DOS.
- Insert the DOS floppy containing CL7.EXE .
